Emmeline Pankhurst nicked my Laser Wrench

Saturday, April 7th, 2007

This was the gist of a line in the first episode of the current season of Doctor Who that had me in stitches.

Jon thought I’d finally lost it until I explained who she was. This is what I love about the new Doctor Who, especially  David Tennants’; the little gems of throw away lines.

Suffice it to say we didn’t make it to London today, decided to stay home and tidy up and generally mooch about. Jon is partaking in typical male easter-bank-holiday persuits, namely taking stuff to the local tidy tip. It isn’t much helped by some road works on the way that seems to cause people to drive like lobotomised morons - trust me, from his description of what people have been doing this isn’t a tautology.

Back to Normal

Or what passes for normal around here.

The bedroom is nearly finished; its all painted, the furniture is in and built - I had most of the chest of drawers complete when Jon got home on Tuesday, he was a bit miffed he wanted to be all manly and put it together himself, presumably while I watched in a semi-swoon marvelling at his putting-together-flat-packed-furniture-skills - so we just need to do things (boring and unexciting) like get rid of cardboard.

I also excavated my work rooom which has returned to looking like a bomb has hit it so I’ll have to put in a few hours sorting it out before I can get down to some serious beading.

Otherwise we haven’t much planned for the Easter weekend other than perhaps going down to London tomorrow to cram as much culture into our day (and cheer on Cambridge at the boat race) before seeing if we can go and see Avenue Q.

:-(

it was negative (but I knew before they called- not sure if that made it worse) - currently working away from upset(with undercurrents of feeling emtionally scooped out); running a whole gamut of emtions. Now have found something funky to do workwise to distract me. Will be able to try again cycle after next.

Also going to deal with it by not binge-comfort eating.
