Finally – Energy!

I am hoping that my friend Alice is right and that this recent burst of energy is a sign of impending baby-popping.

Today I not only single-handedly packed the “Bag For The Hospital” but have been furiously making earrings – and finding beads that I might have otherwise gotten rid of that I now know *exactly* what I’m going to do with them.

I also vacuumed the upstairs landing and our bedroom and I only had to break once to let my back recover.

Earlier in the day we popped into see Jon’s mum and stepdad – and I was very kindly fed some lunch – two bacon butties with brown sauce and it was  just the thing. I credit it as fuel for the rest of the day’s activity.

However, on a sadder note, Jon managed to break one of my favourite knitting needles :-( Already feeling bad because he had planned to pack the hospital bag and found that I had done it while he was distract by cups of tea, he was consoling himself with playing a drum solo on his knees with  said ancient needles – and envariably  the top two inches flung itself off of one.

He then spent about 5 minutes in the fetal position on the bed mooping! He hasn’t let it get him down too much as I told him that I had my eye on a set of knitting needles that he could get me for my birthday in August. Usually I ask for beads, and am rebuffed, and we had to call a moratorium on the DVDs so he is pleased with this arrangement.

Still can’t find the charger…

Back to “Work”

Since I am now pretty much housebound and unable to do too much in the way of getting around even the house I’ve finally gotten down to doing some more jewellery making.

This sort of rush of energy/enthusiasm started last week when I started photographing some of the finished pieces that I had lying around. Unfortunately I was then frustrated by the camera battery finally running out, and the fact that I still can’t find the charger!

But, undaunted, I’ve carried on and yesterday started churning out earrings at a semi-decent pace. Jon must have felt sorry for me because he’s let me work on the dining room table and have more than two trays down! :-) I’ve decided to leave off working on any necklaces until my workroom is completely sorted (but will that ever happen I hear some of you ask). The earrings at least don’t take too long and there are less beads to go everywhere if I suddenly go into labour (please, oh please let it be soon)

Yes, 18 days to the estimated due date and I’m already wishing it was just over. I love the feeling of the little one blibbling about, but I could do without the indigestion, swollen feet, sore lower back and bad, even non-existent sleep due to the indigestion and wonky back…

Tomorrow, however, I will have to finish off the bedroom curtains and make a start on the table runners for my friend’s wedding, but today I’ll indulge myself with beads and maybe a few mini chocolate eggs – assuming we didn’t inhale them all yesterday ;-)

Oh, and we might even pack the hospital bag today – what excitement at chez Still ;-)
