Wheel of Fashion

'80s Girl

I’ll hold up my hand now and admit that the Fashion Wheel I bought on Ebay for Amelia, I really bought to fill that Fashion Wheel sized hole in my own childhood.

My best friend growing up had one, and I alas did not. However, there is no need to feel sorry for me; I made up for it by making 18th and 19th century dresses for my Barbie dolls instead.

I recently purchased a badge maker so I could provide stocking stuffer/secret santa priced items at craft fairs, using paper from the rescued wall paper sample books of hideously expensive wall paper. Then, as part of a new venture which will be opening, at this rate, after Christmas, I thought I’d see if could fill a niche for those of us of a certain age who have fond/embarrassing or just memories of that certain time called the ’80s before we had Project Runway.

It is heartening, though, to consider that the images on the fashion wheel aren’t the scarily thin ones we see now. The image of the girl with the side ponytail on the box however is a bit frightening ;-)
