Busy Day

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Very busy today, a jaunt out to the Post Office and then off to Hemel Hempstead to sort out promo bags for the Handm@de Oxford fair. Both the bags and the Fair should be great!

Most of the day Amelia was practising her rolling and got on to her side a fair amount. Later on in the evening though she rolled right over on to her tummy and then… back on to her back! Needless to say we didn’t witness the actual rolling portion of the action.

Then if that wasn’t enough, later when giving her her bath Jon discovered that she has cut a tooth! All with hardly any fuss… Let’s hope the rest come in as easily!

day2day week1

This week I’ve joined yet another flickr group. This one, entitled Day 2 Day has been formed by the wonderful abi with the aim of tasking us to take photographs highlighting the beauty of everyday things without of the aid of automatic zooms and flashes.

Unfortunately this week hasn’t been the greatest for me to get on with things; I’ve had a lot of sitting around with the little one to do, but I have taken 2 out of the 5 pictures for the week.  You can visit my day2day flickr set here.

The theme that emerged was the old stand by of plants, but I’m planning to try and get out next week with the buggy and huge camera to get both some exercise and photos of London Road. My theme will probably end up being Houses I Covet ;-)

7th Week Heaven

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Well relatively speaking ;-)

I must admit that after 6 weeks things do, at the very least, appear to improve. Some of this is due to the fact that you are now used to having the baby and as yet have not broken them (permanently).

I’m pleased, happy and very glad, oh so glad, that Amelia is now sleeping through the night; or roughly from around 11pm through to between 5 and 7:30 (that was yesterday).

In fact in the last few weeks Jon and I have gone to bed earlier than we have done in a very long time, even before she was born. Granted the last few evenings Jon has taken a glass of Bushmills with him, but through no fault of the baby’s.

Also she is now sleeping when put down after her morning bottle, as of 11:30am she is still sleeping off the bottle she had around 8am. I just need to be disciplined about making the most of this time; I’m still so shocked I end up on the couch in a semi-catatonic stupor. Today, however, I did manage to cook and eat my breakfast so that’s something at least.

Asleep!
