My crazy horoscope

Friday, February 1st, 2008

I think my horoscope has a fixation.

Now, I don’t pay any heed to them, but I’m often amused by how random they can be. And for the last few days there seems to be a wedding theme. A few days ago it advised me against getting married for the whole of the day. This was fine by me given that I’m 7 months pregnant, so my dress doesn’t fit and also I’m already very married (nearly 6 years, which given that we were just barely 23 is doing pretty well in this day and age).

Today, I’m told, is:

[an] Excellent day for achieving a marriage project or going on honeymoon.

Well, I’ve not got a marriage project on the go atm. What is a marriage project? when I was at school a project was one of two things, lots of pithy paragraphs written on small pieces of paper stuck into a big project book, the kind with red covers and heavy black pages, with random pictures, either badly traced, or badly photocopied from slightly foxed encyclopediae (some times the pithy paragraphs came from these too) or stuck to a large single piece of heavy card, with headings written on bright coloured card that had the edges seen to with pinking shears.

My own wedding was organised by my mother, as I was studying for, stressing about and ultimately sitting university finals in the last few months before I got myself eternally tethered to my husband, or rather him eternally tethered to me.

As for a honeymoon…. well we did go to Prague about two years later.

I can’t say I wish I had had the movie-version wedding&honeymoon. In retrospect not having the honeymoon was fine by both of us, Jon had to come back to work and I to drop out of my PGCE course and be unemployed for another 3 months. I supposed I could be sappy and say that the last 5 or so years has been our honeymoon…
